The maximum memory bandwidth is 17 GB/s. In terms of single-core performance, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 shows significantly higher performance in benchmarks than the comparison model.

It is also superior in multi-core scenarios due to the four cores. In games, it offers more stable frame rates in optimized titles thanks to the higher number of cores. The Thermal Design Power is set quite high at 105 watts. Overall, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 is suitable for users who need a higher computing capacity for parallel applications.

The Intel Pentium E5700 was launched in 2010 and was intended as a cost-effective solution for everyday office tasks.

It uses the Wolfdale architecture and is manufactured using the more efficient 45 nanometer process. In contrast to the quad-core model, the Intel Pentium E5700 has only two cores and a limited Level 2 cache of 2 megabytes. Although the memory bandwidth is slightly higher at 21 GB/s, the measured single-core performance is noticeably below that of its competitor.

The Intel Pentium E5700 is less suitable for gaming due to the low number of cores, as many applications require more than two threads. A clear advantage is the lower Thermal Design Power of 65 watts, which allows for quieter operation. The Intel Pentium E5700 is therefore the better choice for simple systems with low energy requirements.
