Intel Celeron N3150 vs Intel Processor N150

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N3150 is an older processor based on the Braswell architecture, designed for basic computing tasks in entry-level systems.

It was introduced in 2015. Manufactured using the 14nm process, it features four cores. Its performance is suited for very simple applications; in Geekbench 6, it achieves a single-core performance of 169 and a multi-core performance of 525. For graphics applications, the integrated Intel HD Graphics 400 with a maximum memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s is only suitable for basic multimedia content, not for gaming.

Power consumption is low. As an older model, it is mostly only found in old devices or used, offering a very low performance level at potentially low costs for extremely budget-sensitive use cases. The Intel Processor N150 is a more modern chip based on the Twin Lake architecture, aimed at energy-efficient everyday tasks in current entry-level desktops.

It is manufactured using the more advanced 7nm process and has four cores. Its computing performance is significantly higher than older Celeron models; in Geekbench 6, it achieves a single-core performance of 1234 and a multi-core performance of 2979. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) and a maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s enable improved graphics performance for light games and multimedia.

Thanks to the modern manufacturing process, it is also energy-efficient, leading to lower heat generation. For current use cases, it offers a good price-performance ratio and is the superior choice for a more responsive system and handling more modern applications.
