Intel Celeron N2830 vs Intel Processor N100

The Intel Celeron N2830, based on the Bay Trail architecture, is an older processor for simple, inexpensive entry-level devices.

The Intel Processor N100 with Alder Lake N architecture is a more modern processor for energy-efficient budget systems.

The Intel Celeron N2830 is manufactured using the 22 nm process and has two cores with 1 MB Level 3 Cache. The Intel Processor N100 uses the more efficient 10 nm process and features four Gracemont cores with 4 MB Level 2 and 6 MB Level 3 Cache. The Intel Processor N100 significantly outperforms the Intel Celeron N2830 in single-core and multi-core performance, resulting in much more responsive operation and better suitability for modern applications.

Neither of the processors is designed for gaming. The Intel Celeron N2830 integrates Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1). The Intel Processor N100 offers significantly more modern and powerful graphics with the Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) for basic media playback.

The maximum memory bandwidth for the N100 is 38 GB/s compared to 21 GB/s for the N2830. The Intel Celeron N2830 has a TDP of 7.5 watts. The Intel Processor N100, despite higher performance, has a lower TDP of typically 6 watts thanks to the 10 nm process, ideal for passively cooled systems. The Intel Celeron N2830 is outdated and offers poor value for money.

The Intel Processor N100 offers excellent value for money for modern entry-level systems due to significantly higher performance at an attractive price. The Intel Celeron N2830 is too underpowered for contemporary use. The Intel Processor N100 is the clear recommendation for energy-efficient, cost-effective systems for everyday tasks such as web browsing and office applications.
