Intel Celeron J6412 vs Intel Processor N95

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron J6412 (Elkhart Lake architecture, 10 nm) is designed for energy-efficient, cost-effective systems such as embedded applications or basic desktops.

It has four cores and four threads. The Intel Processor N95 (Alder Lake N architecture, 10 nm) targets similar segments but offers a more modern architecture with also four cores and four threads for improved efficiency and performance in mini PCs and entry-level systems.

Both are manufactured by Intel and support PCIe 3.0. In terms of computing performance, the Intel Processor N95 shows significantly higher single-core performance. It also considerably outperforms the Intel Celeron J6412 in multi-core tasks, indicating improved instructions-per-clock performance and more efficient cores of the Alder Lake N architecture.

Neither is suitable for demanding games. Both feature an integrated graphics unit (Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs). Although the J6412 has a higher maximum memory bandwidth (60 GB/s compared to 38 GB/s for the N95), the N95's Alder Lake graphics are generally more efficient for basic multimedia tasks. Both chips are known for low power consumption, ideal for fanless systems.

The Intel Celeron J6412 is optimized for very low power consumption. The Intel Processor N95 offers significantly higher computing performance with similar or slightly increased thermal design power (TDP), making it more efficient per watt. Both are positioned in the entry-level segment.

For users who need more performance, the Intel Processor N95 offers better value for money. The Intel Celeron J6412 remains a very affordable option for the simplest applications.
