Intel Celeron J3455 vs Intel Celeron J3355

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron J3455 is based on the Apollo Lake architecture and was designed as an economical solution for simple desktop tasks.

Manufactured using the 14 nm process, this processor provides four physical cores, making it ideal for parallel tasks. In technical comparisons, the Intel Celeron J3455 shows superior performance in multi-core applications. This processor can also stand out in certain scenarios in terms of single-core performance.

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 500 handles the graphics output. In gaming scenarios, the higher core count offers slight advantages in system load compared to the dual-core model. With a low thermal design power of 10 watts, the model is suitable for compact cases. With 2 MB of Level 3 cache, PCIe 2.0 support, and a memory bandwidth of 30 GB/s, the Intel Celeron J3455 provides a solid foundation.

It represents the better choice for multitasking. The Intel Celeron J3355 is an entry-level processor of the Apollo Lake generation for inexpensive office computers.

Like its sister model, it uses 14 nm manufacturing technology, but is limited to two cores. This has a direct impact on multi-core performance, which lags behind the quad-core model. In single-core performance, the Intel Celeron J3355 delivers comparable values in some scenarios, but offers lower overall computing power.

Graphical calculations are performed via the Intel HD Graphics 500, which is hardly suitable for games due to the CPU limitation. Despite the lower core count, the thermal design power is 10 watts. With 2 MB of Level 3 cache, PCIe 2.0, and 30 GB/s memory bandwidth, it is technically comparably equipped.

Both processors are primarily found in older systems. The Intel Celeron J3355 is recommended for minimalist application areas without high demands on parallel processing.
