Intel Celeron J1900 vs Intel Celeron J6412

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron J1900 (Bay Trail architecture, 22 nm manufacturing) is designed for very simple, power-saving systems.

It offers integrated Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1), PCIe 2.0, 2 MB Level 3 Cache, and 21 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth for basic tasks. The Intel Celeron J6412 (Elkhart Lake architecture, 10 nm manufacturing) also targets the entry-level segment but delivers significantly more performance.

It features 2 MB Level 2 Cache, 60 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth, integrated Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Elkhart Lake), and PCIe 3.0 for more modern connections. In a direct performance comparison, the Intel Celeron J6412 is more than twice as superior to the Intel Celeron J1900 in single-core and multi-core performance.

This results from the more modern architecture and the more efficient manufacturing process. Both processors are unsuitable for gaming scenarios. However, the newer Intel UHD Graphics of the Intel Celeron J6412 and the higher memory bandwidth offer a marginal advantage in very simple or older games.

The Intel Celeron J6412 tends to be more energy-efficient due to its 10 nm manufacturing process. Both are designed for fanless or passively cooled systems. The Intel Celeron J1900 is an option for extremely budget-oriented legacy applications. The Intel Celeron J6412 offers noticeably better performance and more modern features for a potentially higher price, making it the better choice for new projects with basic requirements.
