Intel Atom E3815 vs Intel Atom E3827

The Intel Atom E3815 and Intel Atom E3827 processors belong to the Bay Trail architecture and were developed for energy-efficient embedded systems, IoT devices, and industrial controls.

Both are manufactured using the 22 nm manufacturing process and feature integrated Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1). The Intel Atom E3815 is a single-core processor with 1 MB L3 cache and a maximum memory bandwidth of 9 GB/s. In contrast, the Intel Atom E3827 is a dual-core processor that also has 1 MB L3 cache but offers a significantly higher maximum memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s.

Regarding computing performance, the Intel Atom E3827 shows significantly higher single-core performance compared to the Intel Atom E3815, making it more suitable for demanding single-core tasks. For gaming scenarios, both processors are not designed due to their architecture and performance characteristics.

The integrated graphics of both models are only suitable for basic graphical output or very simple, older applications. The Intel Atom E3827 offers slightly higher graphical performance due to its higher clock speeds and better memory bandwidth. Both CPUs are characterized by very low power consumption, with the Intel Atom E3827 tending to have slightly higher power requirements than the Intel Atom E3815 due to its higher performance and additional cores, but still remaining in the low-power range.

The processors are primarily available as components in embedded solutions and not as standalone retail CPUs, therefore their price-performance ratio is considered in the context of total system costs.
