AMD Ryzen 3 2200U vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The AMD Ryzen 3 2200U is based on the Raven Ridge architecture and is intended for mobile computers and compact desktop solutions.

This processor is manufactured using the 14-nanometer process and features two cores and four threads. The integrated AMD Radeon RX Vega 3 (Raven Ridge) is used as the graphics solution. In technical comparisons, the AMD Ryzen 3 2200U shows basic efficiency for office applications but falls significantly behind modern entry-level models in single-core performance.

Computing capacity also remains limited in multi-core scenarios. The thermal design power is kept low, which favors use in slim cases. In terms of gaming, the graphics unit is only suitable for less demanding applications. The AMD Ryzen 3 2200U is primarily found in budget legacy systems on the market.

The Intel Processor N100 is based on the Alder Lake N architecture and targets energy-efficient microcomputers and mobile devices.

It is manufactured using the 10-nanometer process, using four cores without additional hyper-threading. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) provides the graphical basis for image output. In the analysis of computing power, the Intel Processor N100 outperforms its competitor in both single-core and multi-core applications by more than ten percent.

A larger Level 3 cache of six megabytes supports general system speed. Due to the low power consumption, the system can often be passively cooled. The price-performance ratio of this model is advantageous for modern office tasks and media consumption. The Intel Processor N100 is therefore recommended for quiet workstation solutions.
