AMD FX-8350 vs AMD FX-8370

The AMD FX-8350 and AMD FX-8370 are desktop processors from AMD, both based on the 32-nm Vishera architecture (codename Bulldozer) with 8 cores, 8 MB Level 3 Cache, and a maximum memory bandwidth of 30 GB/s.

The AMD FX-8350 was developed for mainstream systems and offered multicore performance. The AMD FX-8370 was positioned as a slightly higher-clocked and performance-enhanced option. In performance tests, the AMD FX-8350 showed 579 in Cinebench R23 Single-Core and 2777 in Multi-Core.

The AMD FX-8370 achieved 2836 in Cinebench R23 Single-Core, with no multi-core data available here. The AMD FX-8370 offers marginally better performance due to its higher clock speed. Gaming performance is similar for both, often limited by the single-core capability of the Vishera architecture; a 3D cache is not present.

Both CPUs have a comparable thermal design power (TDP) of typically 125 Watts and a relatively high power consumption, requiring efficient cooling. Their price-performance ratio on the used market is low, with correspondingly low prices. The AMD FX-8350 and AMD FX-8370 are 8-core processors that excel in older multi-core applications.

The AMD FX-8370 offers only a minimal clock speed advantage. An upgrade between these models is hardly worthwhile. For an existing AM3+ system, the more cost-effective of the two should be preferred.
