Benchmarks & Specs

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium 987 processor, based on the Sandy Bridge U architecture, was once a popular choice for mobile devices. It was manufactured using the 32-nm process, which contributed to good energy efficiency. This allowed notebooks to have a longer battery life, which was highly valued at the time.

The integrated Intel HD Graphics (Sandy Bridge GT1) offered solid graphics performance for everyday tasks. We could easily surf the Internet and enjoy multimedia content with it. With 2 MB of L3 cache, the Intel Pentium 987 offered reliable basic performance. The memory bandwidth was 17 GB/s.

It was well suited for students or users. They often looked for a cost-effective laptop for simple office work. Even today, this processor can be an option for very simple tasks. It is an example of solid technology of the time.
