Summary
The Intel Core i7-6870HQ is a processor that showed its strengths particularly in mobile devices. It uses the Skylake H architecture, manufactured in the then advanced 14-nm process. A prominent feature was the integrated Intel Iris Pro Graphics 580. It offered very good graphics performance for the time.
The maximum memory bandwidth of 34 GB/s noticeably supported this capability. The 8 MB Level 3 cache also contributed to the overall performance. This ensured faster data access and a smoother system experience. The Intel Core i7-6870HQ is of course no longer the most current processor. Nevertheless, it still handles many everyday tasks reliably.
At the time, we were surprised at how well it performed in a variety of scenarios. It remains a solid choice for simple browsing and common office applications.
