Intel Processor N97 vs Intel Celeron N4500

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N4500, based on the Jasper Lake architecture and manufactured in 10 nm, is intended for cost-effective entry-level laptops and mini-PCs.

It is aimed at users who perform basic tasks such as web browsing, word processing, and media playback. Equipped with 2 cores and 2 threads, 2 MB L2 cache, and 4 MB L3 cache, it features integrated Intel UHD Graphics 16 EUs (Jasper Lake). Its single-core and multi-core performance is sufficient for simple applications.

With a maximum memory bandwidth of 47 GB/s and very low power consumption, it is an energy-efficient option. It is not suitable for gaming. The Intel Processor N97, also manufactured in 10 nm, is based on the newer Alder Lake N architecture and offers significantly higher performance for power-efficient systems.

It is equipped with 4 cores and 4 threads, 4 MB L2 cache, and 6 MB L3 cache. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) enables slightly better graphics performance than the Intel Celeron N4500, but it is also not intended for demanding gaming. Its single-core and multi-core performance significantly surpasses that of the Intel Celeron N4500, which results in a noticeably more responsive experience for multitasking and more complex applications.

The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s. Despite its increased performance, it maintains very good energy efficiency. For basic office work and media consumption, the Intel Celeron N4500 is the cost-effective and energy-efficient choice. The Intel Processor N97 offers significantly higher overall performance and is the better recommendation for users seeking a smoother experience with light multitasking or more demanding applications.
