Intel Processor N100 vs Intel Core Ultra 7 258V

Last updated:
The Intel Processor N100 was introduced in early 2023 and is based on the Alder Lake N architecture. It is primarily designed for budget-friendly systems and compact hardware.

Manufactured using the 10 nm process, this chip offers four cores and lacks multi-threading. The computing power is sufficient for everyday office tasks, but in all relevant tests, it lies significantly below the level of more modern chips. Equipped with 4 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 cache as well as a memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, data processing is trimmed for efficiency.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) limits use in games to graphically undemanding titles. A major advantage lies in the low Thermal Design Power, which enables silent operation. The chip represents a cost-efficient solution for simple tasks. The Intel Core Ultra 7 258V was released in late 2024, utilizes the Lunar Lake architecture and is manufactured using the modern 3 nm process.

This model targets mobile systems and features eight cores. In a comparison of computing power, the component achieves significantly higher values in both single-core and multi-core performance, far exceeding the level of the comparison model. With 14 MB L2 and 12 MB L3 cache as well as a memory bandwidth of 137 GB/s, the architecture is designed for fast workflows.

The graphic performance of the integrated Intel Arc 140V allows for smooth gaming at moderate details. Although power consumption is higher, the manufacturing ensures a good balance. The system is aimed at users looking for a powerful solution for productive work.
