Intel Pentium G4400T vs Intel Processor N97

Last updated:
The Intel Pentium G4400T, based on the Skylake S architecture, was introduced in the third quarter of 2015 and was aimed at budget-conscious systems with basic computing needs.

Manufactured using the 14 nm process, it features 2 cores and 2 threads. Its integrated Intel HD Graphics 510 offers basic graphics capabilities, while the maximum memory bandwidth is 34 GB/s and PCIe 3.0 is supported. This processor delivers basic single-core performance for everyday tasks such as web browsing and office applications.

Its multi-core performance is sufficient for very simple workloads but quickly reaches its limits with more demanding applications. This processor is not designed for gaming; it is intended for very energy-efficient or older systems that do not require high computing power. The Intel Processor N97, based on the more modern Alder Lake N architecture, was introduced in the first quarter of 2023 and targets energy-efficient, compact systems like mini-PCs that require improved entry-level performance.

Manufactured using the more efficient 10 nm process, it has 4 cores and 4 threads. Its integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) is significantly more powerful in comparison. The maximum memory bandwidth is 38 GB/s, and the processor also supports PCIe 3.0. The Intel Processor N97 offers significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance, making it better suited for multitasking and slightly more demanding applications.

Although it is also not designed for demanding gaming, its newer graphics unit offers slightly better performance for very light games. It is considerably more energy-efficient and offers better value for money for modern light applications.
