The Intel Core i3-8100 is a desktop processor from the Coffee Lake S architecture and was designed for classic office computers.

It is manufactured using the 14 nm process and has four physical cores. In terms of computing power, the Intel Core i3-8100 shows solid results in everyday applications. For single-core performance, it is at a stable level, but falls behind concepts with a higher number of cores in applications with many computing cores.

The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 is suitable for simple graphics output, but offers hardly any reserves for gaming. With a TDP of 65 watts, the power consumption is moderate. The Intel Core i3-8100 supports PCIe 3.0 and offers a balanced price-performance ratio in the used market for proven stationary desktop systems.

The Intel Core i3-N305 is based on the Alder Lake N architecture and uses the 10 nm manufacturing process.

This processor is aimed at energy-efficient compact PCs. It offers eight cores that are optimized for efficiency. In multi-core performance, the Intel Core i3-N305 significantly outperforms the Intel Core i3-8100, making it better qualified for multitasking. It also achieves higher values in single-core performance, which improves system responsiveness.

The Intel UHD Graphics 13th Gen (32 EU) provides increased graphics performance for media, but remains limited for gaming. Thanks to a very low TDP, the Intel Core i3-N305 is particularly energy-saving and often enables silent operation in passively cooled cases. It is the recommendation for modern, quiet and energy-efficient workstations.
