Intel Core i3-14100F vs AMD Ryzen 5 9600

Last updated:
The Intel Core i3-14100F is based on the Raptor Lake S Refresh architecture and is manufactured using the 10 nm process.

This processor is aimed at budget-conscious users and basic office applications. It offers four cores and eight threads. In synthetic tests, the Intel Core i3-14100F shows solid single-core performance but falls significantly behind competitors in multi-core performance. For gaming, it provides a sufficient base for entry-level systems, although a separate graphics card is mandatory due to the lack of integrated graphics.

The Level 3 cache is limited to 12 MB. With a memory bandwidth of 77 GB/s and PCIe 5.0, it offers modern interfaces. The thermal design power remains moderate, which simplifies cooling and makes the price-performance ratio attractive for simple systems. The AMD Ryzen 5 9600 uses the Granite Ridge architecture based on Zen 5 and is produced in an efficient 4 nm process.

It is designed for more demanding home users and gamers. With six cores and twelve threads, this processor achieves significantly higher values in both single-core and multi-core performance than the Intel model. Particularly, the large 32 MB Level 3 cache benefits performance in many modern gaming scenarios.

Additionally, the AMD Ryzen 5 9600 features an integrated AMD Radeon Graphics (Raphael) unit for basic graphical functions. The memory bandwidth of 90 GB/s and support for PCIe 5.0 ensure high data transfer rates. Despite the higher acquisition costs, it offers high efficiency and reserves for multitasking.
