Intel Core i3-10100 vs Intel Xeon W-2133

Last updated:
The Intel Core i3-10100 is based on the Comet Lake S architecture and was developed for use in budget desktop systems and office computers.

Manufactured using the 14 nm process, the processor has four cores and eight threads. In benchmarks, the Intel Core i3-10100 achieves solid single-core performance, which is sufficient for everyday tasks and simple games. Thanks to the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630, no additional graphics chip is required for basic operation.

The memory bandwidth is 43 GB/s with support for PCIe 3.0. In gaming scenarios, it impresses with its efficiency at moderate resolutions. The low thermal design power ensures low energy consumption and easy cooling. It offers a balanced ratio between acquisition costs and computing capacity for home users.

The Intel Xeon W-2133 belongs to the Skylake W architecture and was specially designed for professional workstations.

It is also manufactured using the 14 nm process, but offers six cores and twelve threads. In terms of multi-core performance, this processor is significantly ahead of the Intel Core i3-10100 in benchmarks, making it predestined for parallel calculations. An integrated graphics unit is not present, making the use of a dedicated graphics card necessary.

With a high memory bandwidth of 85 GB/s and 8 MB Level 3 cache, it is optimized for data-intensive applications. Power consumption and heat generation are significantly higher due to the higher number of cores and workstation orientation. It is primarily recommended for users who value stability and high data throughput.
