Intel Core 3 processor 100U vs Intel Processor N250

Last updated:
The Intel Core 3 processor 100U is based on the Raptor Lake U architecture and was developed for compact desktop systems that require a balance between efficiency and productivity.

Manufactured using a 10 nm process, this model utilizes a hybrid core structure with two performance cores and four efficiency cores. In terms of computing power, this processor shows advantages in more demanding applications compared to purely efficiency-based models due to the dedicated performance cores.

The integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics 64 (Alder Lake) provides a solid foundation for graphical tasks, but remains only limitedly suitable for modern gaming. With a maximum memory bandwidth of 83 GB/s and a level 2 cache of 10 MB, the system is designed for fast data access. The thermal design power is in a moderate range, allowing for compact cooling solutions.

The Intel Processor N250 uses the Twin Lake architecture and is manufactured in a 7 nm process.

It is aimed at budget-conscious users in energy-efficient desktop solutions. The features include four efficiency cores without additional performance cores, which is reflected in the multi-core performance. Benchmarks indicate basic computing power for office tasks and web browsing. For the graphics unit, Intel Graphics 32 EUs (Alder Lake) are used, which lags behind the competitor's solution and offers hardly any room for gaming.

With a memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s and a level 3 cache of 6 MB, the hardware is optimized for minimal power consumption. The low TDP favors fanless designs. While the Intel Core 3 processor 100U is convincing for productivity, the Intel Processor N250 is recommended for simple media players.
