Intel Celeron N3450 vs Intel Celeron J3455

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N3450 is a processor primarily intended for energy-efficient systems such as mini-PCs or thin clients.

It is based on the Braswell architecture and manufactured using a 14-nm process. This quad-core processor is equipped with 2 MB of L3 cache and designed for basic computing tasks. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 500, with a maximum memory bandwidth of 30 GB/s, supports video playback and simple graphical applications.

In performance tests like Geekbench 6, the Intel Celeron N3450 offers a solid foundation for everyday applications. For gaming scenarios, like all processors in its class, its usability is very limited. Its most striking feature is its extremely low power consumption, which enables fanless devices.

The Intel Celeron J3455 is a counterpart often used in compact desktop systems, NAS devices, or embedded solutions.

It uses the more modern Apollo Lake architecture, also manufactured using a 14-nm process, and also features four processing cores and 2 MB of L3 cache. The integrated graphics unit is also the Intel HD Graphics 500, operating with the same maximum memory bandwidth of 30 GB/s. Compared to the N3450, the Intel Celeron J3455 shows noticeably higher single-core and multi-core performance in Geekbench 6.

Furthermore, this processor supports PCIe 2.0 for connecting expansion cards. The Intel Celeron J3455 is also unsuitable for demanding games, but its slightly improved CPU performance offers a minimal advantage in very light titles. Its power consumption is slightly higher than that of the N3450, but it also remains in the very energy-efficient range.

Intel Celeron N3450

  • Extremely low power consumption, ideal for fanless systems
