Intel Celeron N3050 vs Intel Celeron J3455

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N3050 is based on the Braswell architecture and was designed for budget entry-level devices and fanless systems.

Manufactured using a 14-nanometer process, the processor features two cores and two threads. In terms of computing power, the model is suitable for basic office tasks but reaches its limits with more complex applications. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 400 provides a basis for image output but is hardly sufficient for demanding games.

With a memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s and an L3 cache of 2 MB, the focus is on high energy efficiency. The Thermal Design Power is set very low, enabling silent operation. In terms of price, the Intel Celeron N3050 is positioned in the low-cost segment, which reduces the acquisition costs for simple end devices.

The Intel Celeron J3455 uses the Apollo Lake architecture and is aimed at compact desktop solutions and efficient multimedia computers.

This processor is also manufactured using the 14-nanometer process but offers four cores and four threads. In common comparison tests, the Intel Celeron J3455 delivers higher performance in both single-core and multi-core areas in direct comparison. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 500 allows for more stable playback of media content, but remains insufficient for graphically intensive applications.

The maximum memory bandwidth is 30 GB/s with an L3 cache of 2 MB. Despite the higher number of cores, the TDP remains moderate, creating a balance between energy consumption and computing power. The Intel Celeron J3455 is recommended for users who need smoother operation in multitasking scenarios.
