Intel Celeron J4105 vs Intel Celeron N3150

Last updated:
The Intel Celeron N3150 (Braswell architecture) and the Intel Celeron J4105 (Gemini Lake architecture) are energy-efficient processors designed for basic desktop tasks.

Both are manufactured using the 14nm process and offer 4 cores and 4 threads each. The Intel Celeron N3150 has 2 MB of Level 3 Cache and integrated Intel HD Graphics 400 with a maximum memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s. It shows lower performance in single-core and multi-core applications.

Its focus is on extremely low power consumption. The Intel Celeron J4105, a newer development, features 4 MB of Level 3 Cache and the improved Intel UHD Graphics 600, which offers a higher maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s. It achieves significantly higher computing performance in single-core and multi-core performance tests, surpassing the Intel Celeron N3150 by over 10 percent.

It is also energy-efficient but tends to require slightly more power. Both use PCIe Version 2.0. Neither is optimized for gaming; the Intel Celeron J4105 offers a minimal advantage for very simple titles due to its graphics unit. The price-performance ratio of the Intel Celeron J4105 is more favorable due to its better overall performance.

The Intel Celeron N3150 is recommended for maximum energy efficiency and minimal requirements. The Intel Celeron J4105 is the better choice for a noticeably more responsive experience with continued low power consumption.
