Intel Atom x6425E vs Intel Processor N97

Last updated:
The Intel Atom x6425E, based on the Elkhart Lake architecture, was designed for embedded systems and IoT devices.

Manufactured using the 10 nm process, it offers four cores and four threads. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 10th Gen (32 EU) utilizes PCIe 3.0 and 119 GB/s memory bandwidth. Its computing power is fundamental, optimized for simple tasks. Unsuitable for gaming, only very light applications are possible.

With a TDP of 6.5 to 12 watts, it is extremely energy-efficient. The price-performance ratio is optimal for specialized embedded solutions. The Intel Processor N97 (Alder Lake N) targets energy-efficient entry-level computers such as mini-PCs.

It is manufactured using the 10 nm process and features four Gracemont cores with four threads. This processor delivers significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance than the Intel Atom x6425E. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs (Alder Lake) with 38 GB/s memory bandwidth is connected via PCIe 3.0.

Although not intended for demanding games, the newer graphics unit offers improved performance. With a TDP of 12 watts, it is very energy-efficient and offers a good price-performance ratio for entry-level desktops. Both processors are unsuitable for modern games. The Intel Processor N97 offers a slightly improved experience for simple games or multimedia, thanks to its architecture and CPU performance.

Although the Intel Atom x6425E has higher memory bandwidth, the N97's newer GPU architecture usually prevails for general graphics performance. The Intel Atom x6425E is ideal for energy-sensitive embedded applications. The Intel Processor N97 is the better choice for office and light multimedia in entry-level desktops with higher performance requirements.
