Intel Atom E3845 vs Intel Atom x6211E

The Intel Atom E3845 is a processor from the Bay Trail architecture, released in 2013 and manufactured using the 22nm process.

It is aimed at embedded systems and industrial applications that require a reliable, energy-efficient solution. Equipped with four processing cores and 2 MB of Level 3 Cache, it offers solid multi-core performance, which is confirmed by its Geekbench 6 Multi-Core score. Single-core performance is moderate compared to newer architectures.

Its Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail GT1) is sufficient for basic graphics output. With a TDP of 10 watts and a maximum memory bandwidth of 21 GB/s, it is designed for less demanding tasks. The Intel Atom x6211E, introduced in 2021, is based on the more modern Elkhart Lake architecture and is manufactured using the 10nm process.

It targets IoT, edge computing, and advanced embedded applications that require higher performance and connectivity. Despite its two processing cores and 2 MB of Level 2 Cache, it delivers significantly higher single-core performance, which is shown by a more than 10 percent better score in Cinebench R23.

Its 10th generation Intel UHD Graphics (16 EUs) offers improved graphics performance. With a TDP of just 6 watts, it is very energy-efficient and supports PCIe 3.0 as well as a high memory bandwidth of 102 GB/s. For new projects, the Intel Atom x6211E offers a better price-performance ratio.
