AMD G-T56N vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The AMD G-T56N, introduced around 2011, is an AMD processor based on the 40nm Ontario (Bobcat) architecture, designed for energy-efficient, embedded systems.

It features two cores and 1 MB of Level 3 cache. The integrated AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics and a maximum memory bandwidth of 11 GB/s are intended for very basic multimedia tasks. In the Cinebench R23 single-core test, it achieves a comparatively low performance. The Intel Processor N100, launched by Intel in 2023, utilizes the more modern 10nm Alder Lake N architecture and is optimized for energy-efficient laptops and mini-PCs.

It offers four efficient cores with four threads, 4 MB of Level 2 and 6 MB of Level 3 cache, and PCIe 3.0 support. Its Intel UHD Graphics with 24 EUs (Alder Lake) and 38 GB/s memory bandwidth significantly surpass the graphics performance of the AMD G-T56N. The Intel Processor N100 shows manifold higher performance and better energy efficiency in all single-core and multi-core benchmarks, such as Cinebench R23 and Geekbench 6.

In the gaming sector, both processors are not suitable for demanding titles; however, the Intel Processor N100, thanks to its newer iGPU and higher memory bandwidth, offers a better foundation for simple multimedia and older casual games. In terms of price, the AMD G-T56N is an obsolete product, while the Intel Processor N100 offers good value for money for current entry-level applications.

For modern applications, the Intel Processor N100 is the clearly superior choice.
