AMD E2-2000 vs Intel Processor N100

Last updated:
The AMD E2-2000 is an older AMD processor based on the Kabini (Jaguar) architecture, designed for basic tasks in entry-level desktops and laptops of the early 2010s.

It was manufactured using the 28 nm process and typically features 2 cores and 2 threads. Its single-core performance is very modest compared to modern CPUs. Its multi-core performance is also limited for today's demanding applications. In gaming scenarios, it uses an integrated AMD Radeon HD 7340 graphics unit with a maximum memory bandwidth of 11 GB/s, which is only sufficient for very simple or older titles.

Its Thermal Design Power (TDP) is typically around 15 Watts. Due to its age, it is primarily found only in used systems. The Intel Processor N100 is a more modern Intel processor based on the energy-efficient Alder Lake N architecture, aimed at basic computing tasks in mini-PCs, thin clients, and laptops.

It is manufactured using the more advanced 10 nm process and is equipped with 4 cores and 4 threads. Its single-core performance is significantly higher than that of the AMD E2-2000, offering a much more responsive user experience. In multi-core performance, the Intel Processor N100 also clearly surpasses the AMD E2-2000, making it better suited for basic multitasking.

It integrates Intel UHD Graphics with 24 Execution Units (Alder Lake) and benefits from a significantly higher maximum memory bandwidth of 38 GB/s, enabling noticeably better performance in very light games. With a TDP of approximately 6 Watts, it is ideal for fanless or very compact systems with minimal power consumption.

In summary, the AMD E2-2000 is an outdated processor that is only relevant for very simple, undemanding tasks in existing devices. It is no longer recommended for any modern use. The Intel Processor N100 is the clear choice for modern entry-level systems. It offers significantly higher computing power in both single-core and multi-core operations, a much more efficient integrated graphics unit, and substantially lower power consumption.

It is excellently suited for building energy-efficient mini-PCs, thin clients, or for laptops primarily used for web browsing, office work, and media playback.
