AMD E1-6010 vs Intel Core i7-14700F

Last updated:
The AMD E1-6010 (mid-2014) is designed for basic desktop tasks and cost-effective, energy-efficient systems.

It targets users who need minimal computing power for simple applications. The Intel Core i7-14700F (late 2023/early 2024) is aimed at demanding users who require high computing power for gaming, content creation, and professional software.

The AMD E1-6010 utilizes the 28 nm Beema (Puma) architecture with two cores, two threads, 0 MB Level 2 and 1 MB Level 3 cache, and 11 GB/s memory bandwidth. The Intel Core i7-14700F is based on the 10 nm Raptor Lake S Refresh architecture: It offers 20 cores (eight performance cores, twelve efficiency cores) and 28 threads, 28 MB Level 2 and 33 MB Level 3 cache, 90 GB/s memory bandwidth, and PCIe 5.0.

The Intel Core i7-14700F significantly outperforms the AMD E1-6010 in single-core and multi-core benchmarks. For gaming, the Intel is clearly superior due to its architecture and core count. The integrated AMD Radeon R2 (Beema) graphics of the AMD E1-6010 are only suitable for basic image output and not intended for modern games.

The AMD E1-6010 is characterized by very low power consumption and a low Thermal Design Power (TDP), often allowing passive cooling. The Intel Core i7-14700F has a significantly higher TDP and requires a powerful cooling solution to achieve its full performance. In terms of price, the AMD E1-6010 is a very inexpensive option for basic systems where price is the top priority.

In the upper price segment, the Intel Core i7-14700F offers excellent performance for its money in demanding applications and professional use. In summary, the AMD E1-6010 is ideal for systems with minimal performance requirements and a very low budget. For all computationally intensive tasks, from demanding gaming to professional productivity, the Intel Core i7-14700F is clearly the better choice.
