AMD A10-7850K vs AMD A4-5300

Last updated:
The AMD A10-7850K, based on the Kaveri (Steamroller) architecture and manufactured using a 28 nm process, was developed as an Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) for mainstream desktop systems.

It features four CPU cores that offer solid computing performance for everyday tasks and more demanding applications. Its integrated AMD Radeon R7 - 512 (Kaveri) graphics unit is significantly more powerful and, in combination with a maximum memory bandwidth of 34 GB/s and 4 MB of Level 3 cache, enables a smoother gaming experience in older or less demanding titles.

PCIe 3.0 support completes the package. In single-core performance, it significantly outperforms the AMD A4-5300.

The AMD A4-5300, also manufactured using a 28 nm process, uses the Kabini (Jaguar) architecture and is aimed at the entry-level segment. This processor with two cores is designed for basic computer tasks such as web browsing, word processing, and media playback. Its integrated graphics unit, the AMD Radeon HD 7480D, offers a maximum memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s and is sufficient for simple graphical representations.

With 1 MB of Level 3 cache and typically lower thermal design power (TDP) than the AMD A10-7850K, the AMD A4-5300 is a more energy-efficient and cost-effective option for systems where absolute computing or graphics performance is secondary.
