The MediaTek Helio X20 represented an interesting approach at the time. It relied on an innovative tri-cluster architecture. This included ten cores. Among them were powerful Cortex-A72 and energy-efficient Cortex-A53 units. This was intended to enable flexible power distribution. This design allowed the system to activate the appropriate cores depending on the requirement.

Lighter tasks were performed on the more economical units. The stronger cores were available for more demanding applications. The 20-nanometer manufacturing process contributed to solid efficiency. The integrated ARM Mali-T880 MP4 graphics unit supported the visual representation quite well. It offered a competent base for multimedia applications.

It was also suitable for playing less complex titles. The MediaTek Helio X20 aimed to deliver a balanced user experience. It was an important component in many mobile devices. The achieved performance was well usable for everyday tasks. We observed how this processor enabled a smooth experience in its class.
