The
AMD Z-60 was a processor specifically designed for use in mobile devices. It was based on AMD's
Bobcat architecture and manufactured using a 40-nanometer process. A truly remarkable feature of this chip was its already integrated graphics unit, the
AMD Radeon HD 6250. This allowed users to effortlessly handle basic multimedia applications and everyday graphical tasks.
We found this to be a crucial advantage for the device category in which it was used. Another focus during development was clearly on exceptionally high energy efficiency. This made the
AMD Z-60 an excellent choice for all those devices where long battery life was a top priority. It could easily handle typical everyday tasks such as surfing the Internet, editing documents, or relaxed viewing of videos.
The skillful integration of many important functions on a single chip also contributed significantly to simplifying the overall system design. The
AMD Z-60 thus offered a very solid foundation for compact and energy-saving computing experiences.
