The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, based on the Kryo 680 architecture, was manufactured as a high-end processor for Android smartphones using the 5nm process.

It features 1 MB of L2 cache and 8 MB of L3 cache. The Google Tensor (G1 architecture), also manufactured using the 5nm process, was specifically developed for Google Pixel devices with a focus on AI and Machine Learning and possesses 8 MB of L2 cache.

In a performance comparison, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 shows stronger single-core performance in Cinebench R23. The Google Tensor, however, outperforms it in Geekbench 6 for both single- and multi-core tasks, underscoring its strength in parallelized workloads. For gaming, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 with its Qualcomm Adreno 660 GPU is often superior, as Adreno graphics units are known for optimized gaming performance.

The ARM Mali-G78 MP20 GPU of the Google Tensor also offers good performance but usually lags slightly behind. Both processors are energy-efficient thanks to 5nm manufacturing. Direct market prices are not relevant, as they are integrated as SoCs in end devices. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is ideal for gaming and general high-performance applications.

The Google Tensor is excellently suited for AI tasks and multi-core applications within the Google ecosystem.
