Intel Processor N97 vs AMD Ryzen 3 7320U

The AMD Ryzen 3 7320U, introduced in late 2022, is an energy-efficient processor for everyday tasks in budget-friendly systems.

It is based on the Mendocino architecture (Zen 2), manufactured using a 6 nm process, and features 4 cores and 8 threads, supported by 2 MB L2 and 4 MB L3 cache. The Intel Processor N97, unveiled in early 2023, also targets the entry-level segment and is often found in compact devices.

It uses the Alder Lake N architecture, is manufactured using a 10 nm process, and offers 4 cores and 4 threads, complemented by 4 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 cache. In single-core performance, both processors show comparable results. However, in multi-core performance, the AMD Ryzen 3 7320U demonstrates significantly higher performance, making it more advantageous for multitasking and parallelized applications.

Neither processor is primarily intended for demanding games. The AMD Ryzen 3 7320U with AMD Radeon 610M offers 44 GB/s memory bandwidth, while the Intel Processor N97 with Intel UHD Graphics 24 EUs has 38 GB/s. For very light or older titles, the AMD processor can generally achieve slightly better graphics performance.

Both are energy-efficient, ideal for low-power systems such as affordable laptops or mini-PCs. They offer good value for money in the entry-level segment for basic computing tasks.
