However, it lags significantly behind its competitor in single-core performance. The integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics 64 (Alder Lake) enables solid casual gaming, but does not reach top values. With a memory bandwidth of 102 GB/s, it supports fast data transfer. The Level 3 cache is 24 MB. Due to its design for laptops, power consumption is higher than that of pure smartphone chips, requiring active cooling.

The price-performance ratio corresponds to the upper mid-range. The Apple A18 Pro is based on the Donan architecture and was developed specifically for highly efficient mobile devices. Thanks to the manufacturing in the modern 3 nm process, it achieves high energy efficiency. It has six cores, which play to their strengths particularly in single-core performance and clearly outperform the Intel Core i7-13620H here.

In multi-core applications, however, the performance is lower. The Apple A18 Pro (6 GPU Cores) graphics unit is optimized for mobile games, but does not offer a 3D cache. The memory bandwidth is 60 GB/s. The focus is on minimal power consumption combined with high efficiency per watt.

Since the chip is installed exclusively in Apple products, it remains reserved for a closed ecosystem with premium prices. For users looking for portability and efficiency, this processor is the ideal choice.
