Google Tensor G4 vs Apple A18

Last updated:
The Google Tensor G4 is a mobile processor, known under the codename G4, and was primarily developed for Google Pixel smartphones.

It is manufactured using the 4 nm process and is designed to enable deep integration of hardware and software, especially for Google's advanced AI and machine learning functionalities. In synthetic benchmarks, the Google Tensor G4 shows solid single-core and multi-core performance, suitable for modern mobile applications.

Its integrated graphics unit, the ARM Immortalis-G715 MP10, offers good performance for mobile gaming with a maximum memory bandwidth of 51 GB/s. Energy efficiency is optimized for mobile devices thanks to the 4 nm manufacturing process. A direct price evaluation is not possible, as the processor is permanently installed in end devices.

The Apple A18, known internally as Donan, is a high-end mobile processor from Apple, primarily designed for iPhones and manufactured using a more advanced 3 nm process.

This enables superior energy efficiency and higher transistor density. In benchmark tests, the Apple A18 demonstrates significantly higher single-core and multi-core performance, considerably surpassing that of the Google Tensor G4. With 20 MB L2 cache and 24 MB L3 cache, as well as its integrated graphics unit "Apple A18 (5 GPU Cores)" and a maximum memory bandwidth of 60 GB/s, it is optimized for the most demanding mobile gaming and compute-intensive applications.

Its superior performance and more efficient manufacturing process make it the first choice for users who demand the highest performance from their mobile devices. This processor is also not available separately.
