Intel Thermal Velocity Boost

The Intel Thermal Velocity Boost, also called Intel TVB, can increase the clock frequency of a processor to increase performance.

The Intel Thermal Velocity Boost works via the parameters of the Intel Turbo Boost, which in turn can increase CPU performance. The Intel TVB dynamically includes the CPU temperature in the calculation and increases the CPU clock frequency if the processor still has reserves.

The function is similar to the AMD Precision Boost, which increases the CPU performance of AMD processors under very similar conditions.
