The Samsung Exynos 7420 represented a significant milestone in mobile processors. It was specifically designed to provide a solid foundation for demanding smartphone applications. Particularly noteworthy was its manufacture using the then-state-of-the-art 14-nanometer process. Both powerful Cortex-A57 cores and economical Cortex-A53 cores were used. This big.LITTLE configuration allowed for a balanced ratio. It could handle demanding tasks while optimizing energy consumption.The integrated ARM Mali-T760 MP8 GPU was responsible for graphical calculations. It delivered solid graphics performance for mobile games and multimedia.

Many applications benefited from this hardware support. The Samsung Exynos 7420 was therefore a powerful solution for its time. It demonstrated the technological capabilities that Samsung had achieved at the time. With a 1 MB L2 cache, it also contributed to speedy data processing.
