The
MediaTek MT6582, a processor from MediaTek, was once a notable solution for mobile devices. It relied on a quad-core design, which created a solid foundation for everyday applications. Manufacturing was carried out using the proven
28 nm process. This contributed significantly to good energy efficiency at the time.
It was crucial for the battery life of the supported smartphones and tablets.
Cortex-A9 architecture, known for its balanced performance, works inside the
MediaTek MT6582. This enabled smooth use of various apps and a pleasant user experience. The integrated graphics processor, an ARM Mali-400 MP2, also provided graphics and video display.
It supported the playback of multimedia content and enabled the playing of simpler titles. With a Level 2 cache of 1 MB, the overall performance of the system was additionally supported. The maximum memory bandwidth of 4 GB/s also contributed to smooth operation. We remember devices that offered surprisingly good everyday usability with this chip.
