Apple A12Z Bionic vs Apple A10 Fusion

Last updated:
The Apple A12Z Bionic was specifically developed for professional users who require high computing capacity in mobile devices.

This processor is manufactured using the 7-nm process and is based on the A12 architecture. It uses eight cores to ensure efficient load balancing during complex processes. When analyzing the computing power, the Apple A12Z Bionic shows significantly higher single-core performance and much stronger multi-core performance than the comparison model.

With the integrated Apple A12Z graphics unit and a memory bandwidth of 68 GB/s, it offers sufficient reserves for demanding graphical tasks and modern games. The thermal design is optimized for use in thin enclosures without active cooling. The ratio of acquisition cost to performance is stable for used devices.

This chip is recommended for productive workflows such as video editing or graphic design. The Apple A10 Fusion is primarily intended for everyday tasks and entry-level devices.

Production takes place using the 10-nm process based on the A10 architecture. The system has four cores optimized for simple applications and solid energy efficiency. In direct comparison, the Apple A10 Fusion shows lower single-core performance, and the multi-core performance drops significantly due to the older architecture.

The integrated Apple A10 graphics unit and a memory bandwidth of 26 GB/s are sufficient for standard applications but limit the use in graphically intensive games. Energy consumption is very moderate, keeping heat generation low but also limiting the maximum load. This processor is mainly found on the market in inexpensive used devices.

It is the right choice for users who only need basic functions such as web browsing or media playback.
