L'Intel Core i5-6500 (Skylake-S, 14 nm, 4 core/4 thread) è stato introdotto a fine 2015/inizio 2016 per i desktop standard.

L'Intel Core i3-8100T (Coffee Lake-S, 14 nm, 4 core/4 thread) è seguito a fine 2017/inizio 2018 come variante "T" a basso consumo energetico per sistemi compatti.

In termini di prestazioni, l'Intel Core i5-6500 supera l'Intel Core i3-8100T nei benchmark single-core e multi-core; le prestazioni multi-core dell'i5-6500 sono a volte superiori di oltre il 10 percento. Per il gaming, l'i5-6500 offre un leggero vantaggio nelle prestazioni della CPU.

Utilizza la Intel HD Graphics 530 (34 GB/s); l'Intel Core i3-8100T offre migliori prestazioni grafiche integrate con la Intel UHD Graphics 630 (38 GB/s). L'Intel Core i3-8100T è caratterizzato da una TDP inferiore e una maggiore efficienza energetica, ideale per PC compatti e silenziosi.
