Description of the processor

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c is a mobile processor that was first used in 2020. For example, it was installed in the Chromebook x2 11 from Hewlett Packard (da0070ng / da0023dx) and in the Acer Aspire 1 (A114-61).

It is a 64-bit processor with the instruction set (ISA) ARMv8-A64, which is manufactured with a structure width of 8 nanometers. It is based on Qualcomms own Kryo 468 architecture and does not support any virtualization technologies.

The processor has a hybrid core architecture, also called big.LITTLE, which in this case consists of 2 high-performance cores (Kryo 468 Gold) and 6 efficiency cores (Kryo 468 Silver). The gold cores, like the silver cores, clock at 2.40 gigahertz. Since the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c does not support Hyperthreading, the processor only has 8 threads available.

The in-house Qualcomm Adreno 618 is used as the internal graphics unit. This graphics unit was used for the first time in the second quarter of 2019 and is manufactured with a structure width of 14 nanometers. The graphics unit supports a maximum of 4 gigabytes of GPU memory and can supply up to 2 monitors with an image. The clock frequency is fixed at 0.70 gigahertz and with the 128 shader units it achieves an FP32 computing power (single precision) of 358 GigaFLOPS.

The benchmark result achieved in Geekbench 5 shows that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c is an absolute former processor that can be found in the Intel Celeron range.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c has 2 memory channels with which it is able to control LPDDR4X-2133 type RAM. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not specify the maximum amount of working memory that can be operated with the processor. Here you have to look at the device manufacturers what they offer as a maximum.
