Description of the processor

With the Intel Core i9-13900F, Intel offers a 24-core processor that can process 32 threads simultaneously. The CPU cores use a hybrid core structure that follows the big.LITTLE concept and combines larger CPU cores (P cores) with smaller CPU cores (E cores).

Processors with a hybrid core structure can react more flexibly to the actual computer load and usually require less energy during normal operation than computers with classic processors whose CPU cores are identically dimensioned.

The eight P cores of the Intel Core i9-13900F use the new Intel Raptor Cove architecture and support Intels Hyperthreading technology. The clock frequency is 2.0 GHz (turbo mode 5.6 GHz). These CPU cores are interesting for games, for example, where high clock frequencies are important.

The P cores in the Intel Core i9-13900F are supplemented with 16 E cores, which use Intels Gracemont architecture. This comes from the Intel Atom processors. The clock frequency of the E cores is lower at 1.5 GHz, but 4.2 GHz is possible in turbo mode. Hyperthreading is not supported by the E cores.

Up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM is officially supported, although faster memory modules usually work without any problems. In addition, the memory controller of the Intel Core i9-13900F also supports DDR4 memory. However, you have to commit to one memory type, since mainboards only support one memory type at a time.

In dual-channel mode (at least two memory modules), a memory bandwidth of 89.6 GB/s is achieved with DDR5-5600 memory. The ECC error correction of memory is supported by the processor, but the ECC function requires a mainboard with a compatible chipset. The TDP of the Intel Core i9-13900F is 65 watts (219 watts PL2), the real consumption under full load can be permanently higher.
