Description of the processor

The AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE is a processor from Advanced Micro Devices and comes from the first generation of the AMD Ryzen 5 family. It comes from the desktop and server segment of AMDs processor program and is based on the Raven Ridge architecture. The AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE, which came onto the market in the first quarter of 2018, is manufactured with a structure width of 14 nanometers and requires a motherboard with the AM4 socket (PGA1331).

The processor uses a standard core architecture with 4 identical processor cores. The standard clock frequency of the cores is 3.20 gigahertz and the manufacturer specifies the maximum clock frequency as 3.50 gigahertz. However, this clock rate is only achieved when a single processor core is being utilized; if all 4 processor cores are utilized at the same time, the maximum clock rate is only 3.20 gigahertz. The processor supports hyperthreading technology, which gives it a total of 4 physical and 8 logical cores. In addition, the AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE has a free multiplier with which you can overclock it. However, this requires more complex cooling; a standard boxed fan is not sufficient.

The AMD Radeon RX Vega 11 (Raven Ridge) is integrated as the internal graphics unit in the AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE. This graphics unit has 11 execution units with 704 shaders and can use up to 2 gigabytes of the systems built-in RAM. The iGPU clocks at 1.25 gigahertz and thus achieves an FP32 computing performance, with single precision, of 1760 gigaFLOPS.

The processor has 12 Type 3.0 PCI Express cables and is equipped with 2 memory channels for connecting the RAM. The AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE can be operated with up to 64 gigabytes of DDR4-2933 RAM.
