Comparison of the two processors

The Intel Core i9-14900KF and the Intel Core i9-14900K are so similar in name that you might imagine that these two Intel processors differ only minimally. Before we get to the differences, let's start with the similarities between these two models.

Both processors are from the 14th generation of Intel's i-processor series and are based on the Raptor Lake S Refresh architecture. The processors are manufactured with a structure width of 10 nanometers and are designed for the desktop sector. A motherboard with the LGA 1700 socket is required to install both processors.

The processors are based on a hybrid big-LITTLE architecture. They have a total of 24 cores, divided into 8 high-performance cores and 16 efficient cores. Hyperthreading technology is only supported by the high-performance cores, giving the processors a total of 32 threads. The maximum clock speed of the high-performance cores is 6.00 GHz (in Turbo mode), and the efficiency cores clock up to 4.40 GHz.

And that brings us to the only difference between the two processors. The Intel Core i9-14900KF does not have an internal graphics unit and can therefore only be operated with a dedicated graphics card. For this purpose, the processor has 20 PCIe 5.0 slots available.
