V-Ray CPU-Render Benchmark

V-Ray is a 3D rendering software from the manufacturer Chaos for designers and artists. Unlike many other render engines, V-Ray is capable of so-called hybrid rendering, in which the CPU and GPU work together at the same time.

However, the CPU benchmark we used (CPU Render Mode) only uses the system's processor. The working memory used plays a major role in the V-Ray benchmark. For our benchmarks we use the fastest RAM standard approved by the manufacturer (without overclocking).

Due to the high compatibility of V-Ray (including Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Unreal Engine and Blender), it is a frequently used software. With V-Ray, for example, photorealistic images can be rendered that laypeople cannot distinguish from normal photos.

Monero Hashrate kH/s

The crypto currency Monero has been using the RandomX algorithm since November 2019. This PoW (proof of work) algorithm can only efficiently be calculated using a processor (CPU) or a graphics card (GPU). The CryptoNight algorithm was used for Monero until November 2019, but it could be calculated using ASICs. RandomX benefits from a high number of CPU cores, cache and a fast connection of the memory via as many memory channels as possible. Tested with XMRig v6.x under the operation system HiveOS.

To trade Monero you can register with the crypto broker Kraken.com. We've been customers there for a few years now and have been very satisfied so far.

There are 3 years and also 3 generations between the release of the Intel Core i9-9900K and the Intel Core i9-12900K. The Intel Core i9-9900K was released by Intel in the fourth quarter of 2018, and the Intel Core i9-12900K in the fourth quarter of 2021.

A lot has happened during this time, because the Intel processor from 2018 was still manufactured using the 14-nanometer process, while the processor released in 2021 is manufactured using the smaller 10-nanometer process. In addition, there has also been a significant change in the structure of the processors. While the Intel Core i9-9900K has 8 physical cores and has 16 threads thanks to Hyperthreading, the Intel Core i9-12900K has 16 physical cores available, which is a big LITTLE structure, which means 8 of the 16 cores so-called performance cores and the other 8 so-called efficiency cores. With this processor, only the performance cores support hyperthreading technology, which means that the processor has a total of 24 threads at its disposal.

According to our benchmarks, the Intel Core i9-9900K is approximately 30 percent slower than the Intel Core i9-12900K under single core load. In the multi-core benchmarks, the difference in performance is a lot bigger, here the Intel Core i9-9900K is about 50 percent slower than the Intel Core i9-12900K.

Both processors have an internal graphics unit. The Intel UHD Graphics 630 is used in the Intel Core i9-9900K. This graphics unit clocks at up to 1.20 gigahertz and has 24 execution units with 192 shaders. The newer Intel UHD Graphics 770 is used in the Intel Core i9-12900K. This clocks at up to 1.55 gigahertz and has 32 execution units with 256 shaders.

The Intel Core i9-9900K supports up to 128 gigabytes of DDR4-2666 memory. With the Intel Core i9-12900K, up to 128 gigabytes of RAM can also be operated, but on the one hand with the faster DDR4-3200 memory or also with the newer DDR5 memory of the DDR5-4800 type.
