Description of the processor

The Intel Core i7-8750H comes from the 8th generation of Intels Core i7 series and is intended for use in high-performance mobile devices. This can be seen on the one hand from the supported socket "BGA 1440", which only allows soldered installation, and on the other hand from the "H" at the end of the processor designation. The "H" stands for "High Level Graphics" and is used exclusively in purely mobile processors.

The graphics unit used here is called "Intel UHD Graphics 630" and has a base clock of 0.35 gigahertz. In turbo mode, which the graphics unit switches to as soon as the standard clock is no longer sufficient, the clock increases by up to 1.10 gigahertz. The GPU is equipped with 24 execution units and comes from generation 10.5 of Intels own graphics units. This supports DirectX version 12.0 and also the image output on up to 3 monitors at the same time.

The processor has 6 physical cores, each with a standard clock rate of 2.20 gigahertz. In turbo mode, the clock rate increases to up to 4.10 gigahertz when a single core is loaded. If all 6 cores are used at the same time, the clock frequency still increases to up to 3.90 gigahertz. As with all mobile processors, the Intel Core i7-8750H cannot be overclocked, but it does support Intels hyperthreading technology.

The processor supports DDR4 memory modules in SO-DIMM format with a clock frequency of up to 2400 megahertz. The 9 megabyte L3 cache supports the data exchange between the built-in main memory and the processor.

The Intel Core i7-8750H released in the second quarter of 2018 is based on the "Coffee Lake H" architecture from Intel and is manufactured using the 14 nanometer process. The processor is used, for example, in the Apple MacBook Pro 15 (2018).
