V-Ray CPU-Render Benchmark

V-Ray is a 3D rendering software from the manufacturer Chaos for designers and artists. Unlike many other render engines, V-Ray is capable of so-called hybrid rendering, in which the CPU and GPU work together at the same time.

However, the CPU benchmark we used (CPU Render Mode) only uses the system's processor. The working memory used plays a major role in the V-Ray benchmark. For our benchmarks we use the fastest RAM standard approved by the manufacturer (without overclocking).

Due to the high compatibility of V-Ray (including Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Unreal Engine and Blender), it is a frequently used software. With V-Ray, for example, photorealistic images can be rendered that laypeople cannot distinguish from normal photos.

Monero Hashrate kH/s

The crypto currency Monero has been using the RandomX algorithm since November 2019. This PoW (proof of work) algorithm can only efficiently be calculated using a processor (CPU) or a graphics card (GPU). The CryptoNight algorithm was used for Monero until November 2019, but it could be calculated using ASICs. RandomX benefits from a high number of CPU cores, cache and a fast connection of the memory via as many memory channels as possible. Tested with XMRig v6.x under the operation system HiveOS.

To trade Monero you can register with the crypto broker Kraken.com. We've been customers there for a few years now and have been very satisfied so far.

First Geekbench 5 benchmark of the Intel Core i7-13700K

Last week we already reported on the new Intel Core i7-13700K processor from Intel, which is expected in autumn 2022. With 8+8 CPU cores (24 threads), the Intel Core i7-13700K should have the same configuration as last year's Intel Core i9-12900K. With this, Intel wants to finally clear AMD's lead in multi-core performance, which has existed for several years.

After we published a performance assessment of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X last week, the well-known AMD leaker Greymon55 has now posted more informations via Twitter.

He predicts the first four models of the new Zen 4 desktop generation, which AMD would like to present at the end of 2022. There is also an alleged release date of September 15, 2022.

We give you a preview of AMD's new Zen 4 desktop processors and calculate the performance of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X top model for the new AM5 socket. The performance data and other technical details come directly from the press kit that AMD released as part of its Financial Analyst Day on June 9, 2022.

Up to 15 percent more single-core performance and 35 percent more multi-core performance of the 16-core model are realistic !

The two processors from this comparison are models with 12 physical processor cores each. However, there is a clear difference between the models here, because the Intel Core i7-12700K from the 12th generation of the Core i7 processors initially relies on a big.LITTLE structure that has long been known from the ARM processors. In this case, this means that the 12 cores of the Intel Core i7-12700K are divided into 8 high-performance cores and 4 energy-saving cores. Only the 8 high-performance cores support hyperthreading technology, which means that the processor has a maximum of 20 threads available. The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, on the other hand, continues to rely on a normal processor structure with 12 identical high-performance cores and 24 threads.

The maximum clock frequency of the Intel Core i7-12700K is 5.00 gigahertz and the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is 4.80 gigahertz. According to our benchmarks, the Intel Core i7-12700K is a bit faster in the single-core benchmarks, but due to the higher number of high-performance cores, the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X catches up in the multi-core benchmarks and is roughly on par with the Intel processor.

The Intel Core i7-12700K has an internal graphics unit called Intel UHD Graphics 770. This iGPU has 32 execution units and 256 shaders and achieves an FP32 processing power of 742 gigaflops. With the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, as with all processors of the AMD Ryzen 9 series, you have to do without an internal graphics unit and instead have to use a dedicated graphics card.

The Intel Core i7-12700K came on the market in the fourth quarter of 2021, making it almost exactly 1 year younger than the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, which was launched in the fourth quarter of 2020. Despite the younger age, the Intel Core i7-12700K is still manufactured in the 10 nanometer process, whereas the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is already manufactured in 7 nanometers.
