V-Ray CPU-Render Benchmark

V-Ray is a 3D rendering software from the manufacturer Chaos for designers and artists. Unlike many other render engines, V-Ray is capable of so-called hybrid rendering, in which the CPU and GPU work together at the same time.

However, the CPU benchmark we used (CPU Render Mode) only uses the system's processor. The working memory used plays a major role in the V-Ray benchmark. For our benchmarks we use the fastest RAM standard approved by the manufacturer (without overclocking).

Due to the high compatibility of V-Ray (including Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Unreal Engine and Blender), it is a frequently used software. With V-Ray, for example, photorealistic images can be rendered that laypeople cannot distinguish from normal photos.

Monero Hashrate kH/s

The crypto currency Monero has been using the RandomX algorithm since November 2019. This PoW (proof of work) algorithm can only efficiently be calculated using a processor (CPU) or a graphics card (GPU). The CryptoNight algorithm was used for Monero until November 2019, but it could be calculated using ASICs. RandomX benefits from a high number of CPU cores, cache and a fast connection of the memory via as many memory channels as possible. Tested with XMRig v6.x under the operation system HiveOS.

To trade Monero you can register with the crypto broker Kraken.com. We've been customers there for a few years now and have been very satisfied so far.

Comparing a predecessor with its successor, as in this case, is always quite exciting, since you can see so well whether it is worth buying a new model or whether the difference in performance compared to the predecessor model justifies it.

In this generational leap, Intel has made a clear difference. It starts with the fact that the Intel Core i7-11700K is a processor in standard architecture that has 8 cores that clock at up to 5.00 gigahertz and, thanks to Hyperthreading, 16 computing threads are available. However, with the twelfth generation of Core i processors, intel introduced the big.LITTLE architecture, which has been used in ARM-based processors for a long time. Two different types of cores are used here, performance cores and efficiency cores. The Intel Core i7-12700K has 8 performance cores that clock at up to 5.00 gigahertz, which also support hyperthreading and are responsible for performance-hungry computing tasks. In addition, he has 4 efficiency cores that are used for simpler operations and are much more efficient.

According to our benchmarks, the Intel Core i7-12700K is faster both with single core utilization (approx. 20 percent) and with utilization of all cores in parallel (approx. 35 percent).

Both processors have an iGPU. While the Intel UHD Graphics 750, which is manufactured using the 14-nanometer process, is still integrated in the Intel Core i7-11700K, the Intel UHD Graphics 770, which is already manufactured using the smaller 10-nanometer process, was installed in the Intel Core i7-12700K. As a result, the Intel UHD Graphics 750 with 666 GigaFLOPS is not only slower (Intel UHD Graphics 770 = 768 GigaFLOPS), but also somewhat less efficient in terms of power consumption.

Both processors support up to 128 gigabytes of DDR4-3200 RAM and the Intel Core i7-12700K also supports the newer DDR5-4800 standard.
