In the duel between the Intel Core i7-10700F and its big brother, the Intel Core i7-10700k, the differences are mainly shown in the details. The processors designed for high-end gaming systems are, as you can see from the name, very closely related.

The Intel Core i7-10700F has a slightly lower clock rate than the K model. The structurally identical Comet Lake architecture is not fully exploited here. With a clock rate of 2.90 - 4.80 GHz (1 core) and 4.60 GHz on all cores, the clock frequency is almost 1 GHz below the Core i7-10700k, especially at the minimum clock.

Both CPUs have 8 cores. The Core i7-10700F does not have its own graphics card.
Due to the lower clock rates, the power consumption of 65W is well below the level of its big brother (125W).

The more powerful Intel Core i7-10700k clocks in the frequency range of 3.80 - 5.10 GHz (1 core).
All cores offer a maximum turbo of 4.90 GHz, which is more than the maximum clock rate of the i7-10700F. Compared to its smaller brother, however, like every Intel K model, it can be overclocked by default.

The processor also has an integrated graphics solution. The Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphic is theoretically sufficient to do everyday work. Because this is a powerful gaming CPU, the use of a dedicated graphics card, such as the Nvidia RTX 3090, is mandatory in most cases.

In the benchmark comparison, the i7-10700k is ahead of the i7-10700F. The lead is perhaps smaller than expected. While the K model wins the race with a lead of up to 9% in individual benchmarks, the difference in the Geekbench 5 multi-core benchmark, for example, is just 1%.

So it is up to everyone how exactly they want to use the CPU. The overall configuration of the system is certainly important here. With the Intel Core i7-10700k, a good coordination of the PC components, especially the CPU fan, is important.
