V-Ray CPU-Render Benchmark

V-Ray is a 3D rendering software from the manufacturer Chaos for designers and artists. Unlike many other render engines, V-Ray is capable of so-called hybrid rendering, in which the CPU and GPU work together at the same time.

However, the CPU benchmark we used (CPU Render Mode) only uses the system's processor. The working memory used plays a major role in the V-Ray benchmark. For our benchmarks we use the fastest RAM standard approved by the manufacturer (without overclocking).

Due to the high compatibility of V-Ray (including Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, Unreal Engine and Blender), it is a frequently used software. With V-Ray, for example, photorealistic images can be rendered that laypeople cannot distinguish from normal photos.

Blender 2.81 (bmw27)

Blender is a free 3D graphics software for rendering (creating) 3D bodies, which can also be textured and animated in the software. The Blender benchmark creates predefined scenes and measures the time (s) required for the entire scene. The shorter the time required, the better. We selected bmw27 as the benchmark scene.

The Intel Core i7-1065G7 and the Intel Core i5-1135G7 are processors for use in mobile devices. The Intel Core i7-1065G7 is manufactured using the 10 nanometer process and comes from the tenth generation of the Ice Lake U) architecture from Intel's Core i7 processors. The Intel Core i5-1135G7 is also manufactured using the 10 nanometer process, but it comes from the eleventh generation of the Core i5 processors and is around a year newer.

Both processors have 4 processor cores and support hyperthreading technology. The Intel Core i7-1065G7 has a basic clock of 1.30 gigahertz and in turbo mode the clock can be increased up to 3.90 gigahertz. With the Intel Core i5-1135G7, the basic clock rate is significantly higher at 2.40 gigahertz and the CPU also clocks a little higher at 4.20 gigahertz in turbo mode.

In the benchmarks, the Intel Core i5-1135G7 also clearly prevails over the Intel Core i7-1065G7. In terms of both single-core performance and multi-core performance, the Core i5 processor is around 10-20% ahead of the Core i7 processor of the previous generation.

Like all mobile processors, these two models also have an internal graphics unit. The 11th generation Intel Iris Plus Graphics 940 is used in the Intel Core i7-1065G7 and the Intel Core i5-1135G7 has integrated the 12th generation Intel Iris Xe Graphics 80 (Tiger Lake G7). Based on the FP32 computing power, you can see that the iGPU of the Intel Core i7-1065G7 with 845 GigaFLOPS is only half as fast as the graphics processor of the Intel Core i5-1135G7, where the performance is 1611 GigaFLOPS.

Both processors support up to 64 gigabytes of RAM of the DDR4-3200 type. The Intel Core i7-1065G7 also supports modules of the type LPDDR4-3733 and the Intel Core i5-1135G7 of the type LPDDR4X-4266.
