The Intel Core i5-4570, based on the Haswell S architecture, was manufactured using the 22 nm process.

It is a 4-core/4-thread desktop processor for the mainstream market, supporting PCIe 3.0 and 6 MB Level 3 Cache. The maximum memory bandwidth is 26 GB/s, and the integrated graphics unit is the Intel HD Graphics 4600. The Intel Core i5-6500, however, uses the newer Skylake S architecture and is manufactured using the finer 14 nm process.

It is also a 4-core/4-thread desktop processor with PCIe 3.0 and 6 MB Level 3 Cache, but offers 34 GB/s maximum memory bandwidth and the more powerful Intel HD Graphics 530. In performance tests, the Intel Core i5-6500 shows significant advantages in multi-core applications such as Cinebench R23 and Cinebench 2024.

It also noticeably surpasses the Intel Core i5-4570 in single-core performance in Cinebench 2024. For gaming, the Intel Core i5-6500 offers a slight advantage due to its newer architecture and generally higher per-core performance. Its 14 nm manufacturing process also ensures better energy efficiency.

Both processors are primarily available on the used market; the Intel Core i5-6500 offers a better overall package for most applications due to its more modern technology.
