Comparison of the two processors

The two mobile processors Intel Core i5-1135G7 and Intel Core i5-10210U both have 4 CPU cores and support the hype threading technology, with which the processors can process 8 threads in parallel. As with almost all mobile processors, Intel has also fixed the multiplier for the Intel Core i5-1135G7 and Intel Core i5-1021U so that these processors cannot be overclocked.

The Intel Core i5-1135G7 has a clock frequency of 2.4 GHz in the base and up to 4.2 GHz in turbo mode. If all CPU cores are fully utilized, 3.8 GHz are still possible. The clock frequency of the Intel Core i5-10210U is usually a low 1.6 GHz. It also has a turbo mode and can therefore dynamically adjust its clock frequency. Then up to 4.2 GHz in single-core operation or 3.8 GHz with full load are possible.

Since the Intel Core i5-1135G7 belongs to the 11th generation of Intel mobile processors, it can also use the new Intel Xe graphics architecture for the first time. Specifically, with the Intel Iris Xe Graphics 80 (Tiger Lake G7), the second largest expansion stage of the iGPU is used. This has 80 execution units and 640 shaders. The largest expansion stage has 96 execution units, which is 20% more powerful. The new and free video codec "AV1" is already decoded in hardware by the new Intel Xe graphics.

The Intel Core i5-10210U belongs to the 10th generation of mobile processors and still uses the aging Intel UHD Graphics (Comet Lake). This is significantly slower and also has only 24 execution units (192 shaders). The Intel Xe graphics of the Intel Core i5-1135G7 is about 4x as fast as that of the Intel Core i5-10210U.

Both processors can connect a maximum of 64 GB of RAM in two memory channels. If possible, the so-called dual-channel mode should be used, in which at least two main memory modules are installed in the system. This doubles the memory bandwidth, which also benefits the internal graphics.
